Horizon Wind Opens New Office in Kansas

Horizon Wind Energy, a wind project developer, owner, and operator, owned by EDP Renovaveis, has opened a new office in Overland Park, Kansas.
Horizon is currently constructing the 201MW Meridian Way wind farm in Concordia, Kansas, and has other generation infrastructure under development across the state.
There are reportedly more than 1,700MW of interconnection requests for Kansas-based wind projects in the Southwest Power Pool transmission queue.
These projects and continued development of wind in the state is expected to contribute significantly to the US Department of Energy’s ’20% by 2030′ wind scenario, with at least 7,000MW of Kansas-generated wind power anticipated to come on-line in that timeframe.
