Tajik Ministry, Chinese Firm Do Deal to Build Power Plant

As part of mutually beneficial relations and long-term strategic partnership cooperation in the field of energy, the Ministry of Energy and Industry of Tajikistan and the Chinese Sinohydro corporation have signed a memorandum of mutual understanding on the construction of the Nurobod-2 hydroelectric power station on the River Khingob in Tajikistan. According to it, the Chinese company will undertake the designing and construction of this power station. We should recall that this agreement [was signed] on the basis of the treaty on good neighbourliness, friendship and cooperation between China and Tajikistan of 15 January 2007.
