Delta to Launch Non-Stop Service Between Atlanta and Manaus

Delta Air Lines has announced that it will launch a non-stop service between the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Atlanta, US, and the Eduardo Gomez International Airport in Manaus, Brazil, beginning on December 19, 2008.

The airline has also announced that it will start new service between Atlanta and the Fortaleza International Airport via the Guararapes International Airport in Recife, Brazil, on December 21, 2008. This new service increases the number of weekly flights Delta offers between the US and five Brazilian destinations to 32.

Delta currently offers daily non-stop service between Atlanta and the New York-John F Kennedy Airport and Sao Paulo's Guarulhos International Airport; and between Atlanta and Rio de Janeiro's Galeao-Antonio Carlos Jobim International Airport.

Christophe Didier, vice president of sales and government affairs for Latin America and the Caribbean at Delta, said: "These new flights are the result of the recent limited expansion of the bilateral agreement between the governments of the US and Brazil, which opens the door to new opportunities for tourists as well as new business ventures between the two countries."
