Tajik, Iranian Ministers Discuss Power Station Construction

Dushanbe, 28 August: Issues of speeding up the construction of the Sangtuda-2 hydroelectric power station were discussed at a meeting between the [Tajik] minister of energy and industry, Sherali Gul, and Iranian Energy Minister Parviz Fattah in Dushanbe today, 28 August.
The Tajik energy and industry ministry told the Avesta news agency that the sides touched upon building a 1,100-km-long Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Iran electricity transmission line.
The completion of the construction of the electricity transmission line will make it possible to supply electricity from Tajikistan to Iran via Afghanistan.
