Helix Electric Awarded Electrical Contracting Work for Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District

Helix Electric, one of the largest open shop electrical contractors in the nation, has been awarded electrical contracting work for the new Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District (SRCSD) in Sacramento, Calif.
The Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District is building its new Building and Corporation Yard with environmentally sustainable features. The goal of the project is to obtain a minimum of a silver certification in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) through the implementation of water-efficient landscaping, fixtures that promote reduced water use, under-floor air distribution and increased natural lighting. The project encompasses four separate concrete tilt-up structures on 22 acres.
For the office complex, Helix Electric is installing underground main utilities and joint duct banks/vaults for cable, telephone and power. The warehouse features 100-kW photovoltaic cells on the roof to supplement electricity. The 5,000 square-foot central plant includes a 300-W back-up generator, cooling towers and chiller units. The SRCSD project is scheduled to be complete in the fall.
