Embraer Delivers First Embraer 190 Jet to TACA Airlines

September 1, 2008

Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer has delivered the first Embraer 190 jet to El Salvador-based TACA Airlines.

The deal was announced in October 2007, and the aircraft will be used on several routes in the Caribbean and Central America. TACA has a total of 11 firm orders for the Embraer 190, with options to purchase another 15.

Mauro Kern, executive vice president of airline market at Embraer, said: “We are certain that the Embraer 190 is the right airplane for TACA’s expansion on the continent, providing the right capacity for midsize markets, where TACA is growing very quickly.”
