Orex Minerals Announces the Commencement of Production at Santa Cruz
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 2, 2008) - Orex Minerals Inc. (formerly Orex Ventures Inc.) (TSX VENTURE:REX) is pleased to announce that production has commenced on its Santa Cruz Project in Durango State, Mexico a joint venture with Silverex S.A. de C.V.("Silverex").
Located in the Sierra Madre Occidental Mountains, Otaez Municipality, midway between Tayoltita (San Dimas) and Topia mining camps, the Santa Cruz Project is in one of the World's most prolific mineral belts. Santa Cruz is an epithermal gold-silver camp divided into three structural districts, Eastern, Central and Western, as well as the previously operating Santa Cruz Mine.
With regard to Orex' planned exploration program, Ben Whiting, P. Geo., the Company's project manager, has engaged two geologists in Mexico and both are currently on-site. Their near term objectives are to commence detailed mapping of the property and sampling over the next two months, and as a result of this work, to identify additional drill targets for a fall start of a drill program.
Ben Whiting, P.Geo., is the Qualified Person and takes responsibility for the technical disclosure in this news release.
