Buenaventura Appoints New Vice President of Community Relations

LIMA, Peru, Sept. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — CompaÃӚ±ÃƒƒÃ“šÃ‚­a de Minas Buenaventura S.A.A. (“the Company” or “Buenaventura”) (NYSE: BVN; Lima Stock Exchange: BUE.LM), Peru’s largest publicly-traded precious metals mining company, announced today the creation of the Vice Presidency of Community Relations.

The Company believes that community relations is critical for developing new mining projects, as well as the sustainability of Buenaventura’s operations.

To further those goals, Buenaventura has appointed Mr. Alejandro Hermoza as Vice President Community Relations.

Mr. Hermoza has worked at Buenaventura since 2003 as Assistant Manager for Administration and Human Resources. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland, and obtained a Masters in Business Administration from the Universidad de Ciencias Aplicadas in Peru.

The Company is certain that Mr. Hermoza will succeed in his endeavors and looks forward to maintaining positive relations with the communities where Buenaventura operates.

Company Description

Compania de Minas Buenaventura S.A.A. is Peru’s largest, publicly-traded precious metals company and a major holder of mining rights in Peru. The Company is engaged in the mining, processing, development and exploration of gold and silver and other metals via wholly-owned mines as well as through its participation in joint exploration projects.
