United Airlines August Load Factor Down

United Airlines has reported a passenger load factor of 84.5% in August 2008, a decrease of 1.8 points, compared to 86.3% in August 2007.

The airline's total scheduled revenue passenger miles decreased 5.1% to 10.29 billion, compared to 10.84 billion in August 2007. Capacity decreased 3.1% to 12.17 billion scheduled available seat miles, compared to 12.56 billion scheduled available seat miles in August 2007.

United Airlines has boarded 5.92 million passengers under scheduled service in August 2008, a decrease of 5.4%, compared to 6.26 million passengers in August 2007. Actual number of departures decreased 5.3% to 45,902, compared to 48,489 departures in August 2007.
