Air Berlin Monthly Passenger Numbers Down

Air Berlin has transported 2.85 million passengers in August 2008, a decrease of 2.4%, compared to 2.92 million in the same period of 2007.
The airline's fleet capacity utilization decreased 0.6 percentage points to 82.9% in August 2008, compared to 83.5% in the same period of 2007. Revenue per available seat kilometer increased 14.4% to 5.55 eurocents from 4.85 eurocents in August 2007.
For the first eight months of 2008, Air Berlin has transported 19.25 million passengers, an increase of 3.9%, compared to 18.54 million passengers in the same period of 2007. Fleet capacity utilization for the first eight months of 2008 rose from 76.7% to 78.8%, an increase of 2.1 percentage points.
