Iranian Official on Growth of Foreign Investment in Industries

Bojnurd: Mines and industries deputy minister for economic and international affairs has said: Despite certain limitations, the volume of foreign investments in the country [Iran] has had a growth of 900 per cent during the three years of the ninth government’s time.
On Monday [8 September] regarding two industrial projects in North Khorasan, Ali Asghar Ramzi said: Foreign investment in the country has exceeded 19bn dollars during this period of time while this rate was 2bn dollars from 1381 to 1382 [Iranian years started 20 March 2002 to 20 March 2004].
Ramzi added: On this basis, the export of the country’s industrial and mineral products has had a growth of 200 per cent more than what was predicted in the fourth development plan.
He also referred to the centralization plan of mines and industries and he said: With this regard, 800 industrial and mines projects have become operational across the country.
He added: From this number, 27 industrial and mines projects are related to North Khorasan with an investment of 6,738m rials [about 6,738 dollars].
He said: These projects will create about 3,630 job opportunities in North Khorasan.
The governor-general of North Khorasan also said in this meeting: This province is one of the safest provinces in the country for investment.
Mohammad Hoseyn Jahanbakhsh added: During the past three years, suitable infrastructures have been created to attract domestic and foreign investments in this province.
He urged the Ministry of Mines and Industries to pave the ground for attracting domestic and foreign investments in this province.
