Affordable Power to Supply Aransas County Electricity

HOUSTON, Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Lyman Wilkes, the President of Affordable Power, L.P. announced that his company had signed an agreement to provide approximately 15,000,000 kilowatt hours of electricity to Aransas County, Texas. The contract to supply electric power was won by Affordable Power in an open bidding process set up by a statewide Request for Proposal issued by Aransas County. "Affordable Power has focused a great deal of effort in serving the electric power needs of public retail customers, and we are especially proud to work with Aransas County, Texas. In particular, we are pleased that we delivered the lowest price for electricity while keeping our standards of service at a very high level," Wilkes observed.

Aransas County is located on the middle Gulf Coast of South Texas, and the county seat of Rockport has become a very popular tourist attraction, art center, and fishing destination. The County has earned a reputation for outstanding management of public funds, and the County Judge, Burt Mills, is well respected for his personal financial skills. "My fellow Commissioners and I consider taxpayer supplied funds to be absolutely precious, and we do everything possible to conserve and steward public money," Judge Mills stated. "Electricity has become an expensive and unpredictable item for County government, and we are pleased with the assistance Affordable Power gave us through the contracting process.
