Sky’s the Limit for New Record
BIRMINGHAM International Airport has had the busiest ever month in its 69-year history.
It is the airport’s sixth consecutive record breaking month on the trot, but August’s figures of 1,079,970 smashes through the previous best set in August 2005.
Joe Kelly, acting managing director, said: “The records continue to be broken here at the Airport, following in the path of February, March, April, May and July.
“For us to be able to celebrate our busiest ever month is a great achievement and something that we are all very proud of.
“With many exciting additions to the route network in the coming months, including the launch of Turkish Airlines’ service to Istanbul in December and a number of new Ryanair services, a record year is well within sight.”
