Ecuadorian Minister Visits Iran for Cooperation in Oil Industry

Bushehr- Minister of mines and petroleum of Ecuador who had visited Asaluyeh in Bushehr Province, has said: We welcome cooperation with Iran in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries.

According to IRNA, Galo Chiriboga Zambrano said to the reporters in Asaluyeh: A good opportunity has come up for Ecuador to expand its relations with oil companies in Iran.

Expressing his strong interest in Iran, he said that he said that he hopes the relationship between Iran and Ecuador will develop soon in educational and technical fields in oil industry.

Referring to his the recent OPEC conference where he had met Gholam Hoseyn Nowzari, the Iranian oil minister, he said that he is considering signing a bilateral cooperation agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran in the field of oil industry.

Pointing out the construction of an oil refinery in Ecuador, he said: The Iranian companies can help us in building this refinery.

On Friday [12 September] the petroleum minister of Ecuador visited refinery phases and petrochemical complexes in Pars Special Economic Energy Zone of Asaluyeh along with three of his deputy ministers for hydrocarbor, mines and environmental affairs.
