HARRISBURG, Pa., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ — The second annual statewide “Green Energy … It’s Energizing PA!” poster contest is nearing the entry deadline of September 19!
Once again, Pennsylvania students have the opportunity to help spread the word about the importance of renewable energy by participating in the statewide poster contest — “Green Energy … It’s Energizing PA!” — with cash prizes provided by the Pennsylvania Waste Industries Association (PWIA). The contest is open to all students in grades K-12 with cash prizes ranging from $100 – $500! Every student entering will receive an acknowledgment of participation. Entries will be divided into three categories — elementary (grades K-5), middle (grades 6-8) and high school (grades 9-12), and the first place winners in each category will be invited to Harrisburg to show off their winning entries.
Pennsylvania is recognized as a national leader in building a new future with green energy – by converting landfill gas into usable energy. Through this poster contest, students can highlight the benefits of renewable or “green” energy in their communities.
Contest rules indicate the poster should reflect the theme “Green Energy … It’s Energizing PA!” in good quality, communicative art. No company, product or individual names may appear on the poster. The poster must be created with crayons, markers, pencils, or paint on white 8-1/2″ by 11″ paper. No computer-generated art will be accepted.
