SUEZ Energy North America Affiliate Completes Sale of Chehalis Power Plant Subsidiary

HOUSTON, Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- SUEZ Energy North America today announced that an affiliate has completed the sale of a subsidiary that owns and operates the 520 MW natural-gas-fired power generation facility in Chehalis, Washington to PacifiCorp. Financial terms are not being disclosed.
As part of the acquisition, PacifiCorp offered employment to all 15 of the employees of the Chehalis plant. All have accepted the offers.

"Following our recent agreement to acquire FirstLight Power Enterprises, we are optimizing our portfolio of power generation assets and focusing our U.S. resources on the eastern part of the U.S., from Texas to Maine, including the deregulated markets of New England ; New York ; the PJM market (extending from mid-Atlantic states to Chicago, Illinois) ; and ERCOT (most of Texas). Meanwhile, PacifiCorp is enhancing its considerable business position in the western U.S."
