Washington Gas Energy Services, Inc. (WGES), a leading competitive supplier of electricity and natural gas to the mid-Atlantic region, is pleased to announce that Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley has appointed WGES' Veronique Marier to the Strategic Energy Investment Fund Advisory Board. The Advisory Board consists of energy experts and consumer advocates throughout the state. The purpose of the advisory board is to oversee the allocation of revenues collected from the nation's first greenhouse gas cap-and-trade auction, scheduled for September 25, to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from electricity generating plants.

Veronique will be a great asset to the Advisory Board and to Marylanders," said Kimberly J. August, WGES' Director of Regulatory, and External Affairs.
