Steel Workers to Stay on Job in Bridgeville

Universal Stainless & Alloy Products Inc. said this morning the union workforce at its Bridgeville plant will remain on the job, while contract negotiations continue.

Local 9531 of the United Steelworkers had a continuance of its collective bargaining agreement that expired Friday. The USW's former five-year contract, covering 242 hourly workers, expired Aug. 31.

Universal makes stainless and tool steels and other alloys for rerollers, forgers, equipment makers and other contractors.
