Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/e9259d/new_projects_globa) has announced the addition of the “New Projects Global Listing Ed 8 2008″ directory to their offering.

This electricity market research database of electric power generation projects proposed, under construction or awaiting commissioning, through out the world. This database was started in 1998 and this is the eighth issue released in mid-2008 and it is continuously up-dated and currently records 2,619 generation projects world wide in 121 countries. All projects have been identified with as much information as available and more is added on a continuous basis. Since the last edition we have reviewed the data comprehensively and added in more information about existing entries where available.

This list of projects has been compiled from many sources, including regulator and utility reports and websites, together with magazine and press reports. It is not a census of projects but a prospect list built up from many sources and the information about each project varies, from comprehensive data to only a notification that a project is in the pipleine. The list is not projectible. The user who wishes to project future generating capacity is referred to ABS Power Predictor
