Georgian Minister Discusses Aid, Economic Ties With US Counterpart

Tbilisi, 20 September: Georgian Minister of Economic Development Ekaterine Sharashidze is paying a working visit to the USA. The Georgian Economic Development Ministry today informed Kavkas-Press that she met US Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez.
During the meeting, issues concerning US financial and economic assistance to Georgia were discussed. Also during the visit, Sharashidze will meet representatives of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund.
Sharashidze told journalists that intensive talks are under way on support for investment in Georgia. “We are now working towards rebuilding the confidence investors had in Georgia before Russia’s aggression,” she said.
The minister is confident that the level of investment in the Georgian economy will grow thanks to the support of the USA and the West.
