AMR Amaranth (Czech Republic), farming and food company, announces that a profit of unbeliavable CEK 30,000/ha could be reached from amaranth growing in 2008. It is about 10 times more than from wheat growing. In spite of this fact only two companies grow amaranth on the total area of 20 ha in the Czech Republic now. Amaranth has a high biological and nutritive value that is why the EU has designated amaranth as food of the future and has financed a project for amaranth use support on the market since 2007. AMR Amaranth and research plants institute Vyzkumny ustav rostlinne vyroby (Czech Republic) participate in the project in the Czech Republic.
