Vietnam, Laos determined to lift bilateral ties to new heights

HANOI, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) — Vietnam will work together with Laos to strive to achieve new heights in bilateral ties, said Nong Duc Manh, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, according to local media on Tuesday.

Manh made the remarks on Monday while receiving Bunthong Chitmani, Secretary of the Laos People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee and Head of the LPRP Central Organization Commission in Hanoi, the local newspaper Vietnam News reported.

Manh said Vietnam placed great value on the results of talks between high-ranking delegations of the Central Organization Commissions of the LPRP and CPV.

He praised the contributions of the two commissions in consolidating and strengthening the traditional relationship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos .

Bunthong Chitmany spoke highly of the support of the Vietnamese Party and state, especially the CPV’s Central Organization Commission, in training Laos’ personnel.

He also thanked the Vietnamese Party, state and people’s assistance to Laos’ revolution in the past as well as the present national building.

The Lao Party, state and people will try its best to further develop relationship and cooperation with Vietnam, he said.
