Landis+Gyr to Supply 450,000 Smart Meters to Idaho Power

Landis+Gyr, a provider of integrated energy management solutions, has signed a three-year agreement to supply 450,000 advanced metering infrastructure residential Focus meters to the US-based utility, Idaho Power.
The value of purchase orders anticipated to be issued to Landis+Gyr under this contract is approximately $10 million and the system is expected to be deployed for Idaho Power customers in the Idaho and Oregon states over a three-year period beginning in early 2009.
Richard Mora, president and CEO of Landis+Gyr North America, said: "Forward-looking utilities like Idaho Power are choosing Landis+Gyr's smart meters and smart grid solutions so their customers can manage energy better."
