Malfunction Forces Cargo Plane to Land

A cargo plane was forced to make an emergency landing Wednesday at Miami International Airport after its landing gear malfunctioned, an official says.

Airport spokesman Greg Chin said shortly after taking off from the airport Wednesday morning, the airplane's pilots found the vehicle's landing gear would not retract and immediately returned to the airport, the Miami Herald reported.

The airplane was able to make a safe landing at the airport and no one was hurt in the emergency action, Chin told the newspaper.
