Some Sandwiches Recalled in the Texas Area

Posted on: Wednesday, 24 September 2008, 12:00 CDT

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has announced the recall of some sandwiches and potato salad sold in the Texas area that may contain undeclared egg.

The FDA said Mom's Food Products Inc. of Ft. Worth, Texas, is recalling all tuna salad and pimento cheese sandwiches, as well as potato salad, because the ingredients might pose a health risk to people allergic to eggs.

The products were distributed in the Texas area through retail stores or by direct delivery.

The tuna salad and pimento cheese sandwiches are packaged in black plastic wedges and the potato salad is in clear round containers included as part of Mom's Big Sub sandwich packages.

The recalled products are sold under various brand names, including Mom's, Race Trac, Crosby, Outtakes, Podner's and Canteen.

Consumers can return the products for a refund or contact Mom's Foods at 800-743-0010 for further information.
