Adventure Gold Drills 9.7 G/T Au Over 2.2 Metres on Lapaska

Adventure Gold Inc. (TSX VENTURE: AGE)(the "Company") announces successful gold drill results on its 100%-owned Lapaska gold exploration property, located in the eastern part of the Val d'Or mining camp in Quebec. Four holes, drilled last May, have intersected significant gold values in the Lapaska Central Zone ("LC Zone"). The best drill intersections include:
- Hole LP-08-01 : 9.7 g/t Au over 2.2 m, included in a cut of 1.0 g/t Au over 48.3 m
- Hole LP-08-02 : 13.2 g/t Au over 1.5 m, included in a cut of 1.0 g/t Au over 50.2 m
- Hole LP-08-03 : 12.1 g/t Au over 0.5 m, included in a cut of 1.5 g/t Au over 9.4 m
- Hole LP-08-05 : 9.3 g/t Au over 0.7 m and 5.9 g/t Au over 1.1 m
The property is favourably situated between the past producing gold deposit Sigma II to the east (150,000 oz at 2.5 g/t Au: Placer Dome, 1997) and the Simkar gold deposit to the west (43-101 inferred resource of 105,000 oz at 5.3 g/t Au: Megastar - MDV: TSX-V, September 2008), along the prolific Cadillac Larder Lake Gold Break, a regionally extensive structure that is spatially related to numerous gold mines.
"These are notable gold intersections at Lapaska. This confirms the high-quality gold grades and thicknesses historically reported in the LC Zone and will assist us in the completion of the 43-101 resource calculation. The resource calculation process has already been initiated by InnovExplo, and should be completed by the end of the year at which point, a follow-up exploration program will be proposed," remarked Marco Gagnon, President and CEO of Adventure Gold Inc.
Five drill-holes, for a total of 1,640m, were successfully completed during the last drill campaign. All drill holes were designed to test the LC Zone over 450 metres. The gold mineralization in the LC Zone is related to a decimetric veins-hosted network of quartz-carbonate-tourmaline-(pyrite) mainly within a massive silicified dacite. The surface plan of the drilling in the LC Zone can be found on our website at www.adventure-gold.com. Detailed drill results are presented in Table 1.
Quality control
Assay samples are taken from the NQ core and sawed in half; with one-half sent to a commercial laboratory and other half retained for future reference. A strict QA/QC program is applied to all drill core samples, which includes mineralized standards, blank and field duplicates for each batch of samples. Analyses were completed by ALS Chemex of Val d'Or, QC. The announced gold intersections are along the hole.
Fieldwork on the Lapaska property was completed by InnovExplo inc., an independent exploration consulting firm of Val d'Or, QC. This press release was prepared under the supervision of Marco Gagnon, P. Geo. and President & CEO of Adventure Gold, who acts as the Company's Qualified Person, as defined by National Instrument 43-101.
