Valero, Tesoro Receive Aviation Fuel Supply Contracts From US Military

Texas-based refining and fuel marketing companies Valero and Tesoro have won lucrative aviation fuel supply contracts from the Defense Energy Support Center, which manages bulk fuel purchases on behalf of the US Department of Defense, according to the San Antonio Business Journal.
The Defense Energy Support Center awarded Valero Marketing & Supply Company a $381 million contract to supply aviation fuel to the US military in 2009.
Tesoro Hawaii has been awarded a $198.9 million contract to supply aviation fuel to the US military from its 95,000 barrel-per-day Kapolei refinery in Hawaii, according to the news source.
