Pakistan Tightens Lahore Airport Security

Islamabad: Security has been red alerted in Lahore [Punjab Province] following Islamabad and extra forces have been requisitioned while the Lahore police has arrested 450 persons in raids against banned religious outfits and shifted them to an unknown place.

All the arriving and departing passengers are being thoroughly sifted and records of the vehicles checked at the Allama Iqbal International Airport [in Lahore].

The airport sources said modern indoor vehicle checking system is also being installed at the airport.

Meanwhile, raids are also being carried out in suburban areas of Lahore in search of workers of banned religious organizations.

Close circuit cameras have been installed at all the entry and exit points of the city while security personnel have been deployed at all the hotels, government and private buildings and railway stations.
