Western Canadian Coal Announces Shareholdings

VANCOUVER, Sept. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Western Canadian Coal Corp (TSX: WTN, WTN.WT and WTN.DB and AIM: WTN) ("Company") announces that according to AIM Rule 17, the Company is aware that Dresdner Bank AG as at September 25, 2008 owns 13,578,048 shares of the Company, which is approximately 7.4% of the Company's common shares outstanding.
In addition, the Company announces that Cambrian Mining plc ("Cambrian") has exercised certain warrants that were due to expire on September 30, 2008, resulting in the issuance of 520,000 shares to Cambrian. Following the exercise of the warrants the Cambrian group of Companies owns approximately 39.4% of the Company's common shares outstanding.
As of today, the Company has 182.9 million common shares outstanding. About Western Canadian Coal
