Austrian Cargo, the cargo division of Austrian Airlines, and Ukraine International Airlines, have expanded their air cargo connection between Vienna, Austria, and Kiev, Ukraine, to five frequencies a week.
A Boeing 737-300SF cargo-only aircraft has been put into service by Ukraine International Airlines. The companies have been co-operating on the handling of cargo-only flights since the end of 2003. The route was initially served by an Antonov 12 aircraft, with just one rotation flight a week.
The overall capacity per flight is around 20,000kg. The flights depart from Vienna daily, Monday to Friday, enabling delivery within typical integrator specifications.
Franz Zoechbauer, executive vice president of cargo at Austrian Airlines, said: "The Ukrainian economy is growing steadily, and with it the demand for high-value transport services. With the B737-300SF, we are now using an aircraft that enables us to implement further expansion plans together with our partner Ukraine International Airlines."
