Acciona Energy Inaugurates Tatanka Wind Farm in Dakotas

Acciona Energy, engaged in the development of wind power, has inaugurated the Tatanka wind farm in the US.

According to the company, the 180MW wind farm, installed in the states of North Dakota and South Dakota, is the first such facility using Acciona’s wind turbine technology in the US.

While wind conditions in the Tatanka region are claimed to be optimal for wind energy generation, the size of the wind farm is limited by regional transmission capacity.

Peter Duprey, CEO of Acciona Energy North America, said: “Acciona, North Dakota and South Dakota have shown what strong communities and socially responsible companies can do together in creating a clean energy platform for job growth, economic development and environmental sustainability.”
