Ryanair Scrapping Flights to East Mids

September 27, 2008

Low-cost carrier Ryanair is to stop flights between East Midlands Airport and Shannon.

The airline, the largest at the Castle Donington airport, will drop the Shannon to East Midlands route from October 31, after two new routes are added from the Irish airport.

Chief executive Michael O’Leary said: “The cancellation is to accommodate these new routes and increased frequencies.”

Ryanair currently flies to 34 destinations from EMA.
