Iran: Official on Gas Production Rates at South Pars Reservoirs

Deputy of production and gas transfer affairs of South Pars Gas Complex has said: Suring the first six months of the year [Iranian year started 20 March 2008] 21,992,000,000 cubic metre of sour gas has been extracted from South Pars reservoirs.

According to Fars News Agency from Bushehr, in a press gathering, Mohammad Reza Jula’i said: From this amount of extracted gas, more than 20bn cubic metre of sweet gas refined at the first, second and third refineries of South Pars Gas Complex has been transferred through the national pipeline for consumption.

Pointing out that 31,406,000 barrels of gas condensates have been produced during the first half of the year, he said: Gas condensates produced at this company have been exported through pipeline to Nuri Petrochemicals Company and Pars jetty.

Saying that more than 88,000 tonnes of sulphur have been produced at Phase 1 to Phase 5 of South Pars Gas Complex, he added: During the first half of this year more than 428,000 tonnes of LPG have been produced by South Pars Gas Complex.

He said: More than 194,000 tonnes of ethane have also been produced at the first, second and third refineries of the South Pars Gas Complex.

He pointed out that this company is the country’s biggest producer of gas and it supplies more than 35 per cent of the gas consumed domestically through its first, second and third refineries.
