Heating Help for Homes

BETTER heating is on the cards for tenants this winter after new gas supplies have been fitted on two Tyneside estates.

The Gateshead Housing Company, which manages nearly 22,000 homes across the borough, is carrying out the work in Chichester Close, at Shipcote, and Milbeck Gardens, at Lyndhurst.

Utility companies Turriff and Community Energy Solutions (CES) are fitting the supplies, which will mean folk will have access to gas central heating, which is cheaper than using electric heating.

Company chief executive Bill Fullen said: "We are committed to ensuring that our customers can live in comfort, and heat their homes as cheaply as possible. The introduction of the new gas supplies means customers can heat their homes for less."

Milbeck Gardens has been done, Chichester Close will be complete in weeks.
