Vattenfall Europe Receives Approval to Build Moorburg Power Plant
Vattenfall's German subsidiary, Vattenfall Europe, has received approval from Hamburg's Urban Development and Environment Authority to construct and operate the Moorburg hard coal-fired combined heat and power plant.
Vattenfall now intends to continue construction work in a very timely manner in order to ensure the reliable supply of district heating for the city of Hamburg.
Over the coming days Vattenfall said that it will examine in detail to what extent the conditions and additional provisions of the permit and license are in harmony with the agreement concluded with the city of Hamburg at the end of 2007.
