Troy Resources NL (“Troy”) (TSX:TRY)(ASX:TRY) wishes to advise that Mr John Jones will be stepping down as Non-Executive Chairman with effect from 3rd October 2008 but will remain as a Non- Executive Director of the company. Mr Jones was elected as Chairman in November 1988 and has overseen the development of Troy from a junior Western Australian exploration company in the early stages through to a dividend paying gold producer with operations in Australia and overseas.
Mr John Dow has been elected as the new Non-Executive Chairman. Mr Dow has been a Non-Executive Director of Troy since February 2006 and has had a 40-year international career as an explorer and mining executive, most recently as Managing Director of Newmont Australia.
Mr Jones said “I have enjoyed my time leading Troy and I am very proud of what the company has achieved. With production now coming from the new Andorinhas mine in Brazil and a strong balance sheet, Troy is very well placed to pursue further growth opportunities”.
