Regulator Suspends Omskavia, Sibaviatrans Flight Certificates
MOSCOW. Oct 4 (Interfax) – The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviation) has suspended the operational certificates of the airlines Omskavia and Sibaviatrans starting from October 5, a Rosaviation spokesperson told Interfax.
The decision means that the airlines will be banned from providing transportation services. “Rosaviation has made this decision because these airlines do not meet the certification requirements,” the spokesperson said.
Omskavia and Sibaviatrans are members of the AiRUnion alliance, which also incorporates Samara, Krasnoyarsk Airlines (KrasAir), and Domodedovo Airlines.
Of all the AiRUnion members, only Krasnoyarsk Airlines and Domodedovo Airlines can still provide transportation services, as Rosaviation recently extended their operational certificates until the end of October.
