Mine Removal Operation Begins in Eastern Croatia

DRENOVCI, Oct 6 (Hina) – The removal of mines from 556,000- square-metre mine-suspected areas in the eastern Croatian villages of Drenovci and Tenja near the border with Bosnia-Hercegovina started on Monday.
The HRK 2.65 million project is being carried out by the “Tehnoelektro” company on the banks of the Sava River, the mine removal coordinator in Vukovar County, Zlatko Pavlovic told Hina.
The project is being financed from the European Commission’s Cross Border fund, and is expected to be completed in a few months’ time.
