Pacific Blue to Launch Direct Flights Between Brisbane and Solomon Islands

Pacific Blue, the New Zealand-based subsidiary of Australian airline Virgin Blue, has announced that it will launch direct flights between Brisbane, Australia, and the Solomon Islands on December 2, 2008.

The airline has also announced that it will add three extra seasonal flights each week between Wellington, New Zealand, and Brisbane, effective December 1, 2008.

Pacific Blue will fly direct between Brisbane and the Solomon Islands twice a week with connections available from Perth, Sydney, Adelaide, Canberra and Melbourne.

Brett Godfrey, CEO of Virgin Blue, said: "This is the third brand new international destination we have announced in as many weeks and it's exciting, particularly in this current climate, to be able to continue our expansion into new territories."
