CVG, a US-based provider of satellite-based communications solutions, has won a $1.2 million contract from the US Air Force’s Air Combat Command to provide its CFK-100 Compact Flyaway Kits.

According to the company, its CFK-100 provides satellite communications and encrypted networking solution within two carry-on-sized backpacks. The CFK-100 includes an Explorer 700 BGAN terminal, a ruggedized laptop, a KOV-26 Talon Type 1 encryptor, removable red and black routers and an extra hard drive to allow users to meet red/black separation requirements. Also included is a scanner, a UPS supported by BB 2590 rechargeable lithium ion batteries, and additional accessories to support VoIP voice communications. For legacy secure networks, accommodations are provided for the storage of an STE telephone, as well as network connection via a KlasHopper PCMCIA card.

Steve Gizinski, CEO and president of CVG, said: “We are excited about the ongoing expansion of CVG satellite communications solutions in the defense community. The Air Force is a key customer for us and we look forward to continuing to deliver products that support their mission.”
