EDP Energias Do Brasil Suspends Its Participation in Porto Do Pecem II Project

EDP Energias do Brasil has suspended its participation in the Porto do Pecem II project and not participated in the auction held for the expansion of the Porto do Pecem thermal power plant.

EDP and MPX have formed an equal-stake partnership to develop a 720MW thermal power plant (TPP) located at Porto do Pecem. It is reported that there are significant synergies in terms of operational and investment expenditures between both projects, which will be captured by both parts.

The company said that it is following its growth strategy with the development of its portfolio of generation projects, which is composed by combined cycle gas turbines, small hydro power plants, medium-sized hydro power plants, biomass and wind farms projects.
