Stream Energy Named a Finalist for Global Energy Award
Stream Energy, a Dallas-based energy provider that is approaching $1 billion in total sales after less than four years in business, has been named a finalist for the prestigious Platts Global Energy Rising Star Award for the second year in a row.
Platts, a division of McGraw-Hill Companies, grants the Global Energy Awards each year to companies and individuals that set high standards of excellence and are important contributors to the growth and success of the energy industry.
Stream Energy is one of 11 companies worldwide named as finalists for the Platts Global Energy Rising Star Award. Winners will be announced December 3 at special ceremonies in New York City.
Platts named Stream Energy as a Rising Star Award finalist for the second year in a row based on the company's ability to view energy deregulation in Texas and Georgia as an opportunity to market electricity and natural gas in new and innovative ways.
Ignite, the marketing wing of Stream Energy, has a team of more than 100,000 Independent Associates who sign up friends and family members as Stream customers in Texas and Georgia. This approach has provided an effective method to explain the benefits of energy deregulation to consumers in both states and it has created a significant way for individuals to earn extra income during difficult financial times.
Rob Snyder, Co-founder and Chairman of Stream Energy, said Platts' decision to name Stream Energy as a Rising Star Award finalist for the second straight year is a welcome affirmation of the company's continuing growth. "This truly has been a banner year for us," Snyder said. "We are very honored for an organization that is so important to the energy industry to recognize us for the second time."
