Medvedev Vows to Support Russian Private Business on World Markets
GORKI (Moscow region). Oct 6 (Interfax) – Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has reaffirmed the government’s support of Russian entrepreneurs on foreign markets.
Russia “has provided and will provide support to private businesses infiltrating foreign markets,” Medvedev said at a meeting with one of the Alfa Group principal shareholders Mikhail Fridman on Monday.
Alfa-Group is planning to take part in telecommunications projects in Asia, Fridman said.
“We are now looking at telecommunications systems in developing countries. We now have a good aggressive expansion policy on the developing countries’ market,” Fridman said.
Alfa-Group will be trying to take part in projects in the Asian markets, including in Iran and Afghanistan, he said. Such participation will only be possible if there are no contradictions with international law, he added.
