Copper Thieves Strike Again
ARCADIA — City public works employees paid an early morning visit to an industrial park in Arcadia, after thieves stole a copper water valve from a business.
The valve was stolen from a business in the 11600 block of Gold Ring Road, near Peck Road, at about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. Public works employees had to respond to turn off the water, police said.
The business’ owner estimated the loss at between $350 and $600.
Arcadia police Lt. Paul Foley said police have recorded at least a half-dozen thefts of copper water aparatus from businesses in the area, an industrial zone near Peck Road, so far this year.
