Austrian Airlines, Employee Union Reach Collective Agreement

Austrian Airlines and its employee union have reached a collective agreement following intensive negotiations, following which salaries of approximately 3,500 commercial-technical employees will be increased by a basic rate of E10 and by 3.7% as of November 1, 2008.
The next round of talks between the management, the union and Austrian Airlines works council concerning issues of the technical department is scheduled for October 16, 2008.
The union and works council as well as Austrian Airlines's management and chamber of commerce describe the settlement as a compromise, which was concluded to suit the needs of the company and the employees.
