Malaysia to host World Route Development Forum
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) — The 14th World Route Development Forum would be held here on Oct. 12-14 and bring together representatives of world airlines and airports companies to discuss and plan air services.
It is the first time for the Forum, which traditionally takes place in Europe, to be held in an Asian city, said Malaysia Airports Sdn Bhd, the organizer of the event which is also called Routes KL 2008.
Some 2,500 delegates representing more than 300 airline companies and over 600 airport companies are expected to be present, it said.
Meanwhile, the Forum has a number of co-located events taking place this year in Kuala Lumpur, including the annual general meeting of the International Air Route Development Association, the World Fleet Forum, and the 1st Annual Tourism and Air Service Development Summit.
The Route Development Forum is a unique event where airlines and airports meet to discuss new air service opportunities.
