LAN Airlines Monthly Passenger Traffic Increases 16%

LAN Airlines has reported that its systemwide passenger traffic for September 2008 increased 12.3%, as capacity rose 11%, compared to September 2007.

In September 2008, the airline’s load factor increased 0.9 points to 76.9%. International passenger traffic accounted for approximately 72% of total passenger traffic.

The airline’s international passenger traffic for September 2008 rose 6.3%, as capacity increased 4.4%. Accordingly, the international passenger load factor for the month of September 2008 increased 1.4 points to 77.6%

The domestic passenger traffic increased 31.4%, as capacity increased 32.1%. As a consequence, the domestic load factor for the month of September 2008 decreased 0.4 points to 75.4%. Cargo traffic increased 8.8%, as capacity rose 14.5%. As a consequence, the cargo load factor decreased 3.7 points to 70.6%.
