Kyrgyzstan Asks Uzbekistan to Hand Over Natural Gas Facilities

A session of the Interstate Council of the Eurasian Economic Community at a level of the heads of state began [in the Kyrgyz capital] this afternoon. It has considered 18 issues, including a strategy for economic development of the CIS and priority directions of cooperation between CIS countries in the transport, energy and others spheres.
The government’s press service has reported that Kyrgyzstan has asked Uzbekistan to hand over three natural gas technical facilities to the Kyrgyzgaz [Kyrgyz natural gas supply company] free of charge. The facilities are in Kyrgyzstan’s territory and are being run by Uzbek entities. They are a branch natural gas pipeline to the village of Olti-Ariq [in Uzbekistan's Fargona Region], the Kadamdzhay-Shohimardon [between Kyrgyzstan's Kadamdzhay District and the Uzbek enclave Shohimardon in Kyrgyzstan] pipeline and the fourth line of the Ursatyevskaya-Fergana gas main.
