Chvaletice: 4 Mil T of CO2
October 10, 2008
CEZ (Prague, Czech Republic), semi-state power group, is increasing its profit due to the growth of electric power production. But it results in the volume increase of discharged harmful substances. For example CEZ’s coal power station Chvaletice increased the volume of discharged green gases by 55% to 4.1 mil t in 2007 compared to 2.7 mil t in 2006. The power station Chvaletice became the fifth largest air polluter in the Czech Republic in 2007 compared to the eighth position in 2006.
