Harsco Receives $17 Million Contract Award for Additional Mill Services in France

HARRISBURG, Pa., Oct. 14, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Worldwide industrial services company Harsco Corporation (NYSE:HSC) announced today it has been awarded a new six-year contract valued at more than $17 million to provide steel upgrading and finishing services in France, continuing Harsco's expanding role in providing on-site, value-adding service solutions to the global metals industry.
The award from Ascometal's Fos sur Mer operations in the south of France will add to Harsco's ongoing services at this location and introduce a bar handling and grinding service with a projected volume of 100,000 bars per year. Ascometal makes high performance steels, including alloyed and heat-treated products, for a range of industrial markets. Harsco's work is to begin immediately and is expected to contribute positively to the Company's Economic Value Added (EVA(r)) performance.
